Hi everyone.  I am new here and I am hoping that all you experienced and knowledgeable camper owners can tell me if it would be feasible to strap a roof top bag to the top of my Oztrail camper 12.  I am fast running out of room in my trailer and I feel that a bag would answer my problems.  Does anyone have any recommendations, on a brand of bag?

Try this mob, they have all sorts of canvas products, and are willing to make stuff to order.

  • Are we there yet?
I don't see a problem as long as it is light gear you're packing.

Thanks for the prompt replies.  I have never seen a camper trailer carrying a bag on top before and it just seems such an obvious way to carry gear. Camping with kids requires all  the space you can muster, as I am sure many of you know.

Should not be a problem, the only reason I have not done it because if it doesn't fit in the trailer it isn't coming. Just watch out for the straps on the base of the bag, you wouldn't want them rubbing through the cover of the camper. Welcome to the best forum going round as well

Hi Luvinit and welcome to My Swag, strapping a rooftop bag or pod to the top of your CT should be fine just as long as you are keeping within GTM of the CT

G'day & Welcome.

Be careful of some of the cheaper bags, as they're not water proof. A good canvas bag is the go.
