Gasmate ducted heater

I am looking for some feed back on these gas heaters, search results haven't come up with much so l thought l would ask on here. I am looking for feed back as to wether they work ok? and the main concern is if they are affected by the wind blowing the flame out? do you use the small gas cylinders or have you converted it to a gas bottle setup?

  I am looking into setting one up in the jerry can holder (only while camped) on a forward fold camper and then feeding the ducting through a gap in the canvas to the inside of the camper.  I think l would prefer to go this way rather than a diesel heater but just looking for any feed back on them before spending any dollars on one.

They'll work alright consuming 90g/hr of gas so that's 50 hours running on a 4.5kg bottle. By comparison a 3 way 90L Dometic fridge uses 350g/24hrs so an 8.5kg can run it for 24 days but you knock that back with cooking obviously (15 days average)

I have one of the cheap $200 diesel heaters and it performs great, but  if things were to go wrong with it, I can't see how it could lead to the camper filling with noxious gases, unlike a gas heater ,  I'd be concerned about sleeping with a device that produces carbon monoxide, although it shouldn't be able to get inside your camper.

If you're talking about the direct selling Chinese eBay/Alibaba/wish diesel heaters.... I like your confidence...

Gasmate is an Australian owned business and therefore has to comply with Australian codes and have all the insurances along with it if something should go wrong.

We also have to have those insurances.

Not that insurances do much good for you if you're dead.....

However to get those insurances Gasmate had to have this product approved by Australian Gas Authority and comply with their Safety Regulations... Like most Australian regulations they are some of the toughest in the world...

The cheap diesel heaters I've seen are sold direct from China.  Not tested or regulated...

If something was to go wrong...  Very little if any protection.

That issue aside. 

They both work the same way - they use heat exchangers that sit outside the tent.  The carbon monoxide is expelled away from the fresh, warmed air inlet...

The only difference other than safety regulations is that one burns Diesel the other LPG.
