Post by: lukeandjayde on October 23, 2016, 08:39:21 PM
hi guys thanks to admin for the add. my name is Luke, and my wife and i today just picked up a second hand MDC step through camper. although i have been camping many times we are both new to the camper trailer world only having used my farther in law's twice but we both  love it hence why we disided to buy one, we went with a soft floor as they have more room for us and our two young kids and now i cant wait to take it out but first i have a couple of things i would like to sort out.
1:there is a small amount of mould on the roof and i would like to get it off and assure it stays waterproof.
2:set up the electrics a bit better as they are ok but only could be better.

any help will be great. thanks in advance Luke....

gday luke - for the mould try white vinegar first, or if its bad go the bleach. if its only on the inside you should be fine, outside well you may have to leave it up in the sun a few days with the vinegar treatment. if waterproofing worries you don't be afraid to give it a coat of brellaproof or something - bondrite have a clear one that I use but its hard to get hold of, but generally if it has been seasoned you shouldn't need to worry too much as long as you don't scrub too hard - be prepared to wear out a kitchen sponge or two on it when you give it the vinegar treatment

Welcome mate, for the mould I can recommend oil of cloves mixed with water in a spray bottle, and I have just been told by a canvas maker to also try Dabbing on fabric softener
