Title: G'day from a new OLD jayco swan owner
Post by: crash on November 20, 2010, 07:05:39 AM
G'day, the wife and I have got ourselves an old jayco swan about 9 months ago.  We used it once and LOVE it, after being in a tent and swag for the last 15 years.  Though i still love my swag, and use it when i go on my own or with the boys, the days of using a tent are over!

The jayco is an 80 model, and needs a LOT of work.  I dont think i will be taking it off-road so to speak, but as we love camping in the bush, setting up camp and then going off-road in the 4bie i hope its o.k. to use this site!!  I need to ask a few questions about the swan as i need a bit of help, but will ask them in the appropriate section.

Looking forward to talking with a few of you, and hope to be able to offer my own advice, experience and trips!

Crash.

Well hello there tim from Stratford!

yep, found the site!  Used it once, in Anglesea of all places last year not long after buying it.

Was thinking what would happen if i took it up for the memorial weekend, it would of fallen apart on the trip after all the wood rot i have found, but it seems to be all repairable.

There is a few good builds in here for old Jayco's where the interior has been fully pulled out and redone, so might look at doing that slowly so can be a bit more comfortable.  I dont think corrugations would do it any good in its current form.  I think i need to do a welding course too.....

hows your camper going?
