Ok so we are getting a drifta kitchen, but whichone, DPOR or DPO
« on: February 05, 2011, 08:42:14 PM »
For all those who have one, why did you choose it and so forth

1) I like the DPO as it is much faster to set up hence it will most likely get used more often especially on quick stops
2) The DPOR has extra space which can be used as a table but take much longer to set up hence when doing a quick stop, it would be very painful and less likely to be used on a quick stop.

So not sure which one to get

WogsRus,

We have a DPOR and love it. Thought heavily about it when we purchased and now really value the extra bench space and storage shelf when doing a full setup as we have 5 kids of which up to 4 come regularly camping with us. For quick use we just pull out the kitchen, put down the main body legs at one end (leave the other end on the trailer) and take off the return but do not set it up. We then have access to the cooker and storage.

Being there is only two of us the DPO package is the way we went.
Takes about 5 minutes to setup, including connecting the LED light strip and water line for the sink.
If we need extra room for prep work we just use our table.
Both are great products and you will not regret getting either one...

We have the DPOR package and it only takes an extra 30 seconds to do the full set up.  Find it is worth every second, and when we have power we take a microwave which fits on the bottom shelf.

Just purchased a 2nd hand DPO for my camper and whilst it is terrific, for the extra few dollars the return is worth having.

Same with the DPOR here...if only a quick overnight stop, I don't add the return and so it is as quick to set up as the DPO for that situation. Then when you have a longer stay, you'll really appreciate the extra space and storage shelf as well. We use the return as our breakfast bar and happy hour bar as well. I have two fold up stools I got from Ikea that sit you at the right height to eat at the bench. Love it!  :cup:

We have the drifta pull out short - it also has the return, but as tonym and duchess said, you don't have to us the return, so it is quick to set up.  With the return you have heaps of bench space, makes cooking and preparing much easier.

There would only be 30 seconds time difference between the DPOR and the DPO. Honestly, for all that extra space its worth it. I've got the DPOR.

cheers

DPO for us, we have a small table which gives more bench space than the return does and it was only $20 on sale at Bunnies

I am so impressed with my DPO, the build quality is so much better than I could have built myself.
