I think if you look hard enough in life for fault with something, you will clearly find it. I am less concerned with the whole import/local buying issue as it does appear that strides have been made in recent years to close the gap on the quality of the product. I was very concerned when my search started, based on the stigma you mentioned and also my budget. less so now though, so that's good!
Your last point for me hits the nail on the head and that's just getting out there with the family and enjoying it. I want to match up our needs to what the camper will offer and get out there!
