Beautiful Sunny day here today.
X2 on above...we woke to the sun out and not a cloud in the sky this morning. The only sign of the event at my place, is the water laying in puddles in the backyard that won't drain away due to ground being too saturated. I recorded 206.9mm of rain in my newly installed weather station, and most of that fell on Friday with the rain having stopped by 8.00 p.m lastnight.

Was going to see if they would take the missus and the kid in as a new attraction, Bugger it I was beaten by an act of god causing a flood and Noah had already loaded the bloody ark, then the idea of feeding the sharks at underwater world sprung to mind ..
Lets just say the bloody sharks there are over fed, wernt interested at all in them, so it was back into the car and haul them home again ..
Looks like Ive got another year of marrige to face with the rats on top of the 23 years I  just ticked off, Wouldve only got 5 > 8 years for bloody murder and been out by now... guess its Happy 23rd Anniversery  ..

Can tell winter is just around the corner, minus six here in the Nations Capitol this morning, heavy frost and ice still in the yard :cup:

Great memories of inland Australia on top of the GDR. Love those cold crisp mornings with the land covered in white frost. Any pics from this morning?

FARK!

Quote
While it might be snowing in Hobart and Melbourne might be expecting a top of just 11 degrees on Monday, Iraq was forced to declare a four-day holiday from last Thursday to help residents cope with extreme conditions as a heat dome set in over the region.

The Iranian port city of Bandar-e Mahshahr recorded an apparent temperature of as much as 74 degrees on Friday. That remarkable reading came from a heat index that is calculated according to a formula that combines the air temperature - 46 degrees at its peak - with the top humidity or dew-point temperature reached of 32 degrees.

The only higher record, though, was 81 degrees, observed in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia on July 8, 2003, they said.

Is there much damage from all that hail? Have only seen pics on the news of the blanket of white on the ground everywhere, so I'm guessing it wasn't destructive like what Brisbane copped last year?

No real damage fortunately but I cracked up laughing when I saw the state of the birds of paradise. They've been shredded. :)

good to read no real damage,  the stuff we copped last year was scarily nasty, and I wouldn't wish that on anyone. Saw around Grafton & Nambucca Heads apparently copped some big in size hail today.

It rolled through Noosa an hour ago, strong wind and rain for about 30 mins with thunder and lightning, happy to say the Ultimate kept us dry and happy at Elandad Point.
