Rust spot advice
« on: February 03, 2024, 05:17:02 PM »
hi all,

looking for some advice on how to treat this rust spot on my roof...

was thinking about trying to clean it with some wd40, then a quick sand in the spot with some 800 grit, then some rust converter, then some touch up paint.

i know it won't be showroom perfect, but looking for ideas...

if anyone else has done this sort of thing with some measure of success, happy to hear how you did it and what brands of rust converter/paint you used.

I use to work for company where we only had white cars that were turned over every 2 years. Before the cars was sent back to the auction house and in order to avoid penalties from the fleet leasing company our bosses would get us to patch any paint chips and the like.
The method of repair included using liquid paper as the touch up.

I’m looking at keeping this car for a while yet…

Not sure I’m comfortable with the liquid paper solution, unless it works…
