RIP Chester Bennington
« on: July 21, 2017, 06:38:27 AM »
The lead singer of Linkin Park has apparently taken his own life overnight....another great band to listen to has lost their lead singer this year, he was a mate of Chris Cornell also who took his life not long ago

Meteroa is an awesome album...

Seems to be numerous band people this year... not a good year at all.

And on Chris Cornell's Birthday too......
I particually liked Chesters efforts when he fronted Stone Temple Pilots - I remember that I wasnt sure how that would work out when I first heard the news, but after hearing it the first time I was quite impressed

I agree....    I think the figure is about 500 - 750 people in Australia suicide every year. ....   That's up to 15 per week....    So yesterday; today; tomorrow etc;  about 2 a day....

Individuals feeling like there is no way out. ....    that the pain (for them and family) is "less" by going -- than the real (emotional/mental)  pain the are suffering right now -- in staying ....

This lack of hope and meaning for life is very sad.....    Its like a disease...

And it doesn't matter one's material status; income; and social standing....

Often (mostly men) hit their 50's ... They suddenly look around them and realise that they are never going to live their dreams of youth OR they suddenly look around them,  they are fabulously successful, wealthy, great family and friends - but still;  their lives have no meaning. ....

You get out and in to the world -- you take more @#&$. …You climb a little higher, ..you take less @#&$.  …Till one day -- you're up in the rarefied atmosphere -- and you've forgotten what @#&$ even looks like….  Welcome to the layer cake son.

Interesting post from one of the members of Korn regarding his passing "  I’m sick of this suicide Shit! I’ve battled depression/mental illness, and I’m trying to be sempethetic, but it’s hard when you’re pissed! Enough is enough! Giving up on your kids, fans, and life is the cowardly way out!!!” Probably wasn't the time for a comment like that but definitely has a point.

Another singer that I'm a fan of gone. That was terrible news to wake up to this morning. I just can't comprehend how things can get so low that death is the only way out. I feel terrible for his family, he left a wife and 6 kids behind.
