Hi everyone

I've noticed that My Swag now offers photo hosting, so I've set up my account and added photos from my Mt Augustus trip to an album.

I want to add these photos to my trip report but I've not been successful in adding them. I've tried copying and pasting the HTML embed code for the image, but all I see is the line of code and no photo.

I tried the BBC embed code and all I got was a thumbnail image that could be clicked on, which enlarges it on a separate page...not what I wanted.

So, can someone please assist with how to add my photos, thanks.

Dont know about Myswag hosting albums .. But all I do is resize my pics [ make a second copy of the ones you choose ] using Microsoft office on my computer ..
At the bottom left corner of your white Myswag reply screen box it says additional options "Click" that and it brings up Attach "choose file " etc " click that and go to your computer pics and " click " the pic you resized it will highlight then click "open and it will add to your myswag post as an attachment .. then click " post " and its done .
You only add 5 resized pics in each post .. then just keep on repeating reply posts with attached pics if you want to add more .

On my tablet i have a resizing app, i just resize the pics I want to show, then tap on Additional Options under the box you write your replies in, then you can browse your pic library and upload it from there.

I was hoping to add the photo within the text so the words and pictures flowed, rather than add the pics at the end.

I'll give it a go and see what happens!!

If you host your photos on a service like IMGUR you can do that.

yeah understand why you want that, that's what i used to do on Photobucket, now i need to join another hosting site like MrCruza has mentioned to be able to do it

I was hoping that by having my photos within My Swag, I could just paste the IMG code from those photos, straight into my posts....but it doesn't seem to be the way, unless I'm not doing something correctly.

This is a cut and paste from a pic I did a few years ago. Swap the round brackets for the square one

Code for a link with a word in this case HERE, instead of the Internet address being visible. (url=http://www.myswag.org/index.php?topic=16378.msg456387#msg456387)HERE(/url).
Put = followed by the link inside the first brackets and the Word between the start and end.

But I find it easier to just add the photos to the end as already suggested.

Hi Rusty

Inspired by your query I have spent a few hours of trial and error and managed to learn (I think) how to post using Flickr. I used to use photobucket but that is not available it seems.

I doubt that I could explain how I did it tho

Here is a sample of my Kennedy Range travels.

Thanks to both of your for the info.

I was hoping to be able to upload my images to an album in My Swag's gallery, then just copy the HTML embed code into my posts....like I used to do with Photobucket, but alas, I couldn't get it to work. Maybe I'm not holding my mouth correctly!!

Nice photo, rossm....you must have walked up the Escarpment Trail, too.

I'd like to know how you added that photo, if you could remember

Hi Rusty

Yes that was the scarp climb. Bit of a scramble but worth it for the view.

In a nutshell what I did (I think) was create a Flickr account, move the photos there and then there is a link that offers you options for sharing. You copy that into the post and with a bit of fiddling it seems to work.

If someone with more computer skills than me could show you it would be a piece of cake. As I said mine was trial and error.
