Porta Loo's on Fraser
« on: April 17, 2010, 03:58:45 PM »
We've just been doing some packing this afternoon and when it came time to sort out the dunny we both looked at each other and asked "where will we empty this"?

I checked out the DERM website and it shows only 1 dump point at Hook Point.  So for those of you that have been there before, any ideas?

Thanks
Karen

My guess is that until proper dump points have been installed around Fraser, you'll need to empty your waste where you would if you didn't have a porta potti - at the bottom of a decent hole a long way from any water courses.

What's your choice of chemical?

Thanks Salty I was wondering if that would be the case.  We few times we have used the loo we have used the Thetford chemical.  Have been told about Napisan working really well also though.

Don't worry we'll have a beer or two for you and take in some sites.

When I "drop the kids off at the pool", I think I might just PRESS THE BUTTON and walk away!!!  :cup:

How about you Berger???  >:D

While you Happy Clappers go empty your Poo Pots, we might just have to have another beer while we wait for you.......

I don't want to pre-empt anything, but gees it would be terrible if the Poo Pot was spilt in someones truck while transporting to the dumping facilities.........who will hold it on their lap for the drive???  >:D >:D >:D

Yes life will be terrible at the Resort but someone has to do it Marco

I have given the manager of the 'Resort' a call to be on the lookout for beach campers that may try to infiltrate the park in order to use these basic comforts we will take for granted. To assist I was all too happy to supply pictures of the likely suspects.  :police:

Tell everyone to hold the #2's until you visit Eurong/Cathedral Beach/Kingfisher (or anywhere else with a public loo).  Is there one at Central Station?  Think so, can't quite remember.

There are several public loos on the island - Portapotti is for emergency only.
Camping is great as long as the mattress is inner spring!

Funny that you mantion that mate, cause the park Mgr actually queried me last week as to how many of our 'associates' were camping just outside the park.......I think he is already onto them.  :police:

These said luxuries we will experience every morning and evening will need surveilance.......I am sure that the Happy Clappers will crave some of the good life at some stage during the week.  :-*

I think Pipeliner is onto something here  :police:

I can see it now, a big night on the squirt, an unhappy bowel wanting its toxic contents gone, a loose sphincter, a long drive......... ;D

I think I need to go to the "Last Minute" thread and add on......some adult nappies for the Happy Clappers.  ;D >:D ;D >:D

I can just see it now after a big night, half a dozen trucks hurtling down the beach through the creeks to Eurong ............(Bump, Fart, Squirt :o....Bump, Fart, Squirt :o....Bump, Fart, Squirt :o) ..........just bring a suitcase dedicated to carrying the excess undies for the troubled mornings when the turtle neck comes out of its shell too soon.  :P :P :P

Just make sure no-one serves prunes for breakfast!

We have a rule at our camps - the person who does #2 in the portaloo is the one who has to empty it out.  The portaloo is strictly for emergency #1s, like when us oldies need to go in the middle of the night.
