Vandals - again (vic)

Why the fark would you winch a hut off its foundations? Why would you do any of this shiz....?? What am I missing here... Words totally fail me..

Quote
Some historic facilities have been damaged beyond repair and have had to be removed to ensure public safety,” Ms Penfold said.

The increased frequency of these senseless attacks on the facilities is costing the department time and resources to repair.

Sites affected include:
Marthavale Hut – damage to the toilet, ‘doughnuts’ around the fire pit and picnic area.
Gippsland Lakes Discovery Trail – a vehicle unsuccessfully attempted to drive onto the mountain bike trail by pushing over a metal bollard.
Stony Creek Trestle Bridge – a vehicle drove up the steps to the viewing platform, picnic table was stolen from the site.
Turntable Huts – a historic forest hut was winched off its foundations.
Seldom Seen Hut – graffiti and vandalism on the historic hut.
Store Creek Bridge near Deptford – graffiti on the bridge, road signs and the road and also on earthmoving machinery.

Maybe this thread could be combined with the "What do you think is still unacceptable" thread.

That's what happens to society when know one is held to account for their actions any more.

Time for some good old bush justice. A good old kick up the A*$e, dip em in honey and lay em on an ants nest.

Unfortunately it only takes a few of these incidents to give the ones who want to lock us out of these places the ammo to justify doing it.

Regards

It's the enemy within.....they used 4x4's to get there! We all need to be vigillent and report all suspicious activity within these area's or get used to a lot of locked gates

Hi,
  Disgusting!

Time for some disguised and covert motion sensing cameras to be installed I think, and use the evidence to throw the book at the little brats.

Some 17yr old lost his life today when he fell from a bridge he was graffiting.

You crack me up  ;D ;D ;D

Recently up at the Upper Yarra Reservoir my wife and I were walking to the lookout and two 4wds (P plates) were coming down the road from the top. One of them drove off the made road to cut a corner ripping up the whole embankment in the process. The other vehicle stuck to the road but deliberately slid around the corner and nearly lost control into us. As we continued to walk to the lookout, every piece of grass on the side of the road was destroyed by donuts.

I took note of the time and emailed Parks Vic the vehicle descriptions and times as I noticed they had cameras on the gates to the park. Hopefully they were caught.

You're right Lost, it's just beyond words.

Perhaps if their parents (if they had any) had used tougher disciplinary measures when these monsters were hatched, they might show a little more respect for things that are not theirs. Can't wait till they have a family and property of their own, and some twit does it to them.

It's funny this was mentioned today, because the headlines of the Advertiser in Adelaide says, "how parents have lost control of their kids because of lack of discipline".

Oh well, what goes round comes round.
Cheers Glenn

Well i guess he won't be re-offending anytime soon. Although a tragic outcome, sometimes consequences can be fatal  ;D

I know what he was doing was illegal but I don't think making jokes about a fatality is funny. Consider his family and friends.

You are right about the tragic side of it though.

I'm not saying don't punish the offenders but consider this particular outcome, Maybe it might be a lesson to other risk takers before attempting the same thing.

Maybe Rich if his family had taught him the difference between right and wrong and to respect other people property, they wouldn't now be faced with their terrible reality.

Jas,
Maybe his family did maybe they didn't? Parents can't follow there kids around all the time. I know 17 isn't a kid but at 17 I'm sure this person knew the risk involved too.

Even on the weekend just gone a 4WD came in and did a few burnouts around the campground not in the camping area but on the road section, they left before we could obtain any details, it was a white hilux dual cab.

Maybe they should just invent playstation and x-box games for graffiti and other anti social behaviours and these guys can live out their fanticies from their lounge chairs instead of venturing out into the real world at all. Safer to mate.

Na, then they would go online, show their tags, and then go into real world and use the same tags on everything.
