Title: Itinerary Stage 2

Stage 2

Mon 21st May leave Wed 23rd May
 ( 2 nights, 1 and a half days)

We leave Home Valley and travel 2 and half hrs and stop at Ellenbrae.

Good camping areas and we will have a dinner at the property with the owners joining us.

 Enjoy morning tea and sample their famous scones

1 day travel

Wed 23rd May leave Fri 25th May
(2 nights / 1 day)

We arrive at Drysdale River Station. There are 2 dedicated campsites to pick from and we can decide once we arrive which one to choose.  We don't need to book.
( we will be traveling roughly 350 klm from Drysdale to Mitchell Falls and onto Kalumburu, make sure you have enough fuel avaiable.)


1 day travel

Fri 25th May leave Mon 28th May
 (3 nights / 2 Days*)

We arrive at King Edward River, Munurru and use this as our base to visit Mitchell Falls.

*Option is drive to Mitchell Falls for the day or spend one of the nights at Mitchell Falls.


1 day travel

Mon 28th May / leave Fri 1st June.
( 4 nights / 3 days)

Today we tackle the rough Kalumburu Rd.  If the going is slow we will camp overnight on the track as the distance is only a  hundred kilometres but the road is expected to be rough. We will be camping at one of the beach front caravan parks.

1 day travel

Fri 1st June leave Sat 2nd June
(1 night)

We leave Kalumburu and head back to Drysdale River Station for an overnighter.

1 day travel

Sat 2nd June leave Mon 4th June
(2 nights / 1 day)

We leave Drysdale and head to Mt Elizabeth Station.

Approx 2hrs travel

Mon 4th June leave Wed 6th June
(2 nights / 1 day and a half days)

We leave Mt Elizabeth Station and only travel a short distance to Mt Barnett Roadhouse / Manning Falls.

Approx 2 to 3hrs travel

Wed 6th June leave Fri 8th June
(2 nights / 1 and a half days)

We leave Manning Gorge and head to Bells Gorge. Being a national park,  people with pets will camp just outside of it.


Fri 8th June leave Sun 10th June.

(2 nights / 1 and a half days)

We leave Bells Gorge and head towards Windjana Gorge and Tunnel Creek. Again being a national park people with pets will camp outside the park.

Approx 2 to 3 hrs travel

(As we will be only traveling short distances between some places we will have plenty of time to look at the gorges.)

End of Stage 2


Total for stage 2 -  20 days / 19 nights
