Title: Cape Trip pics and videos
Post by: Symon on July 06, 2012, 02:03:33 PM
I am currently uploading all of the images and videos of this years Cape trip to my webhost (all 72GB of it!).  At the current rate it should be ready for people to download sometime early tomorrow.

There will be three main folders - low res, high res, and video.  Please download the low res folder first, and then pick which images you want, then download the high res images.  This avoids you from downloading everything (and waiting ages) only to find you will delete most of it.

For access please shoot me an email at symon@myswag.org and I will email back with the FTP details.

This service is only open to those who were on the Cape trip.  If you weren't on the trip please do not ask for access, as refusal may offend.  Those who weren't on the trip will need to wait to see the pics posted up in the trip report.

OK, the upload went all through the night but will take a bit more to be finished.

I have received emails from some people, but I won't send out the details until the upload is finished - please be patient.

Yes well, that is what happens when some lunatic decides to go uphill in soft sand with a camper on..... we almost destroyed Scott's Maxtrax getting the cruiser out.

Love the footage Scott, how cool did that sunrise look?

I had to shovel half the beach to find the maxtrax after Symon was finished with them. Sunsets are what life is all about.

Hi Symon
We met the swaggers at Palm Creek and stopped to watch the fun before the main group arrived.
Enjoyed catching up and meting you guys there.
JK filmed our Patrol going though. Is it possible to get a copy of the footage or access to see the footage?
Thanks for your help.
James

Hi Symon,

How's the upload going??

Cheers,
Geoff

Getting there, I started the upload before I headed down to Brisbane for the week, only to find it crashed halfway when I got back.  Restarted it now, so see how it goes.

OK, the following people should have an email in their inbox telling them how to get into the FTP server -

bjf
Smartway
jk
McGirr
Malcur
gregandleanne
Chris J
barraboy
paulp
Glenn & Amy
GeoffA

If I have missed anyone who has sent me an email please let me know and I'll add you to the list.

If there is anyone who was on the trip and hasn't sent me an email can you please do so (hen I need an email, not a PM!).

There is still some 3000 low resolution images uploading at the moment (all the high resolution ones are done) that will be finished in an hour or so.  I have put up some of the video footage but as you can appreciate this will take a bit to all get up there.

A long one from mainly the GoPro. I paired it down, so it's not too boring.

Great quality for such a little box, Palm Creek was filmed from the roof of the car.

Glad I'm not the only one wasting a perfectly sunny Sunday on the internet.

Too bad, cause we're going to give it a go anyway  >:D cause after seeing you guys do it, what choice do the rest of us have.  avo

Go you UTube, open the vid.
Copy the URK
go to http://www.savevid.com/ (http://www.savevid.com/)
paste in URL and choose what format you want to download it in.
I just downloaded all at 1920 x 1080 and am burning them to dvd for the big screen.

I've checked the settings, and because I have used a song it is blocked on mobile phones and TV.

Great videos Scoot! I even caught a glimpse of one of our guys(I think) in the background at Nolans on the Creeks and Falls of Cape York video.

It was great to see footage of you guys, but I had no idea which face belonged to which name. Maybe a Special Features section with commentary or name tags would make a great addition to the 'official' Myswag DVD  ;)  ;D

Speaking of that Symon, will the photos/videos etc... ever be available for the rest of us (who weren't part of the official Myswag crew) to peruse?

Cheers
Karen

I'll post up some of my photos, but the rest I won't make available as they aren't mine to share.

If the other people who were on the trip want to post up theirs that is their choice.

great vids and pics in here so far.

having never been, but wanting to get to the cape
Is it sign posted or common knowledge which crossings if any may have crocodilians living there?

The only place that has crocs is the Jardine River.

Just taken care of a few more emails.  Is there anyone left who was on the trip who hasn't got access to the FTP server? Or is having trouble?
