Hi from Geelong
« on: March 14, 2014, 12:38:23 PM »
Hi everyone,

My hubby and I have just ordered our first camper trailer and all the bits and bobs to go with it.
We decided to go with an MDC Off Road Deluxe which we've optioned with the 12 volt battery system, mechanical brakes, outside tap, storm cover and spreader poles.
Given we currently drive a camry we were limited in what we could tow but still wanted something with some off road capabilities for when we upgrade the car at a later date, we didn't want to spent a fortune but wanted to be able to have a camper we could pretty much drive away and use comfortably.
We had fun at the Caravan/Camping show at Caulfield last weekend, got a great deal on a Waeco 50Lt we'd been looking for plus found plenty of other things to fill the car with!

We are from Geelong and have camped on and off since before our girls (now 8 and 10) were born, our tents are getting to the end of their lives so we decided to bite the bullet and finally get the camper trailer we'd been talking about getting for the past 10 years, lol! We have only done destination camping in caravan parks to date but are looking forward to getting away for the shorter weekends too now that set up will be a bit simpler :)

I've already got so much info from this forum and I'm looking forward to getting to know you all a bit more as we begin our camper trailer adventures!

Thanks guys, we're all super excited! We don't take delivery til late April as hubby works 4 weeks on/4 weeks off so we're waiting til he's home from his next swing. That's ok tho, it gives us time to get organised with gear and research some new places to camp :)

Black Diamond - nice to see I won't be the only one eyed CATS supporter around here!
