hi
Drove up to Cairns last night through some questionable weather.  Fuel filter dash light has come on, its not flashing, just solid on. Have dealt with it on a mates 200 previously but can't remember the reset sequence.
We both thought it was:
Disconnect top sensor wire, then side one.
Push start button twice to activate ignition without actually starting.
Wait one minute
Connect both top and side wires
Wait one minute
Ignition off
Wait one minute
Start vehicle

Does anyone know the correct sequence?  I have spare filter but I do not believe I have a fuel problem. Spoke to Toyota and confirmed very sensitive sensors especially in humidity.

Cheers
Kieran

Copied from Lcool

Follow this procedure to turn light off:
1. Disconnect top wires/plug on filter housing
2. Turn Ignition Key on
3. Plug top wires/plug back in
4. Turn Ignition Key off
5. Turn Key back on and start vehicle
Light should now be off!!
Here for a good time, not a long time!

Our sensor came on the other day after I had to hit the power to get past a long caravan sitting on 90 k’s on a highway.  Don't you hate that!  I put a clean bowl under the filter tap and pumped some fuel out and all looked good, reset the warning light and all OK.  I have a spare filter and I will change it as I have found in the past that if the filter is getting near its change time the light will come on with hard acceleration.   Kevin

Kevin - I haven't checked but what is the recommended change out timeframe?

Not sure they list one, just when the light comes on which is BS. On the Paj it was 45k. Given I am doing low kms I had mine changed at 10k and will do every service.
