If any member has a Mattock they can bring. I happy to carry it as I have room.
It will help shaping some of the tracks. As I will have a shovel also.

Do you mean an implement with a flat blade on one side and an axe type blade on the other side?

Correct. I could buy one for $29 but living in a unit I would not use it again.

Yeah I got one, it will fit in the tool box.

Tina that would be good. Having 2 will make track modifications a lot easier.

Best advise is buy a 3/4 size as the women folk do get tired so quickly as they do get heavy

Google pelican pick, gotta be the best implement for the job at hand. You can not only dig with it you can also move a lot of dirt quickly by laying it on it's side and pulling it towards you, don't know what stores carry them, I saw one on the back of a 4x4 a few days ago, haven't used one since the 70s, an incredible bit of engendering .
Regards Woody.

I've got a couple of pelican picks here....... they are the best things for moving loose dirt, crushed rock sand etc...... not much chop for digging / breaking raw earth..... infact they'd make a ripper piece of kit to compliment maxtrax in the sand.....
-
here's one here............
-
In fact I have had some very non-memorable moments in confined spaces with the above implement.......... usually digging out bogged conveyors under crushers............... cough, cough..... just love chewin' dust.
-
They look good

You can borrow mine and give it a test drive if ya like....... they work best if u get down level with the ground, imagine kneeling in front of a pile of crushed rock/blue metal etc... strike into it the same as an axe into the base of a tree, fill the pelican pick scoop then drag it out towards you....... they can move a stack of dirt...... I've used them laying on my side in some tight spots... when there is no other f#ckin option...... I reckon they'd be great for sand recoveries, leave a long handled shovel for dead.
