Title: 4WD draws
Post by: Crisp Image on June 18, 2014, 09:10:38 PM
Looking in to draws for  couple of vehicles for a volunteer organisation I am involved in.
So the brief is 2 draws side by side, one set for a ranger with a tub liner and one set for a Patrol Wagon (GU)
We would like the draws in the ranger deep enough to hold a small chainsaw so thinking about 300mm or a little less.
The draws for the Patrol have to fit with the existing cargo barrier.
My question is what is available and what do people recommend? Don't want to spend a fortune for these but the item that is best fit for purpose will win in the end.
Your thoughts please
Regards

Have a look at the Drifta drawers.  I built my own but in the end I didn't save that much when compared to what Drifta were offering and the amount of time I invested.

There is a bloke in Dandy/Frankston who makes good draws . http://www.bestoffroad.net.au/contact.html

I'm just about to start on these ones. Best draws ever IMHO http://www.4x4earth.com.au/forum/showpost.php?p=341108

Another option to consider.  These are our drawers from Forby Fitouts.  Extremely well built and very strong.  I liked the way they repositioned the rear cargo barrier closer to the rear seats to achieve a little extra room.  This unit includes the fridge slide (fits a 50l Weaco), 20l water tank, drop down net shelf up top, table stores along side the fridge when not in use and the 2 drawers are huge. Only issue is it wasn't cheap but the missus insisted we have a proper system fitted.  Who was I to argue...?

The budget is enough to get a good quality fit for purpose set of draws.

Sent from a thing that can't spell

To suit your spec I'd suggest Forby Fitouts, Outback/Black Widow etc will be too low for a saw. They'll also be able to custom make something to suit your exact requirements. I love my Outback drawers but they won't fit my saw.
