Evershower - Tentworld now exclusive stockists!
« on: September 18, 2019, 10:55:07 AM »
Hi Swaggers,

Just thought I'd pop in and let you know about a cool Australian invention that we're now the exclusive stockists for.

The EverShower - it's an unlimited, water recirculating shower system for when you do not have unlimited water.   Maybe if you've been going to camping shows lately, you might have seen Larry demonstrating it.

It works from a min of 3L but, 5 - 10L is recommended.

Something that I've personally been looking for, for a very long time.  I often prefer to camp in places where there is no running water & dont have the weight capacity to carry too much.

But as my wife can testify.. I do love my showers when camping - they really help me with getting to sleep & are critical for me to enjoy myself for longer camps.  (Some creature comforts I cannot live without - showers & coffee)

Pictures do not really do the Evershower justice, it kinda looks like any normal Ensuite.  Videos really are best, or seeing it in person even better.

Here is a picture of it to peak your interest.

Here's a picture of Larry Tofler (inventor & owner of Evershower) & myself after he personally delivered our first shipment.

Yeah, when talking with Larry he mentioned that lots of people in tough drought areas were grabbing them.  Especially those on tank water were buying them to help save on water deliveries.  Best part is that you can then empty it onto a needy plant afterwards too.

Interesting concept.

A few things:

If you really need to get clean washing in dirty water is not for me.

A bit pricey.

We could all wash in 10 litres of water.

I would not want to use it after the first, second or third person.
             or
If the idea is to change the water for the next person nothing really has been gained as each person uses the same amount of water.

Cheaper to buy a pop up tent and a 12v shower or a shower bladder that carries 10 lt.

Just my thoughts.

Appreciate your opinion McGirr thank you for posting.

Agreed - Everyone has different luxuries that they determine are essential for their camping trips.  I know of plenty of guys who consider a shower is not essential at all for a couple of night camping trip.  I can handle this for overnight camping trips, but is still not my preference and this diminishes my camping experience.

Showering in 5-10L of water to yourself, is in my opinion - when not filthy, not an issue at all, and usually my wife and I would share this water.  We have done this plenty of times and its not concerned either of us who goes first.

Of course, when water is more easily found & replaced - we enjoy more to ourselves.  All depends on where you camp, and how much water you can carry.  Usually we take only 40 - 60L for all our washing, drinking & cooking needs to last at least a few nights.

If the idea is to change the water for the next person nothing really has been gained as each person uses the same amount of water.

Depends on what kind of shower experience you're looking to compare it to and how much of a hassle getting more water is.

In my opinion, a hot water bag is only a nice shower when in Spring or Summer, and if you're showering in the late afternoon.  I find those bags do not have enough water flow, and dont hold enough water, to give you a 'similar to home' shower experience.  I find it a small improvement from a bird bath.

The Evershower when paired with a hot water system, gives you the closest I've found yet to a 'almost like home' shower experience.  But while using limited water with a nice water flow rate.

For instance you & your family enjoy 10m+ showers at home - if you were to do this with the Joolca, without the Evershower or any kind of method for recirculation - you'd have used 60 litres of water.

You can pair the Evershower with the Joolca and use only 5-10L.  Depending on water availability, you could recirculate this for each member of the family & everyone would be by comparison - much cleaner.

Or, you could each use 5-10L to yourself and still be ahead of one person showering for 10m with the Joolca.

Ultimately, it comes down to what is valuable to you & your family when you go camping.  Showers for many are a life luxury that people do not want to miss out on when camping.  This allows them to do that in more places.

A luxury I'm happy to do without when camping is a table and for a few trips in a row, I left it behind without consulting my wife.  However, she has since instructed me that she does not enjoy camping without one.  So we take one now !   ;D

A bit pricey.

The price I think is fair for the custom mouldings, and highly polished product that's instantly fit for purpose. But of course, the tinkerer, could make something up in their shed that may end up being cheaper after he's poured many hours of his time hunting items, and copying this.

But of course, I obviously think its good value - as we've already bought them to stock our stores !  I know Larry has been doing quite nicely on his show tours around Australia too  :D

But ultimately, thats the great thing about camping everyone does it a bit differently.

Not bad, can see the advantages, along with the disadvantages as Mark has listed above, but use it right with a bucket of water, I like it.
Cheers

Yep, I'm never to sure whether those two are best mates, or deadly enemies ??? ;D

With the shower though, I'm wondering a bit like Mark, what the effect of soap & so on going through the pump or hot water system is likely to be ???

The pump when its strapped in is able to sit a bit above the bottom of the catcher - so a bit of dirt & grit shouldnt be a concern.  Plus they all have a pre filter to catch that stuff anyway.  Obviously, if you were filthy muddy, you might want to pre-rinse that off before hopping in.

Worth mentioning is that the included Evershower pump is a modified regular 12v water shower pump that we sell with a slightly different head on it.  So if the pump was to eventually fail - its not game over for the entire thing and are relatively inexpensive to replace - between $24.99 and $60 depending on which you choose.

Regarding the soap, both the Evershower Pump & the other hot water systems we sell - they're all designed with the knowledge that recirculating the water is possibly happening and it might be not as clean as tap water.

Many hot water owners when camped beside creeks and things pump straight from there.  So no real concern there either.   Real dirty water is rougher on the pumps, and perhaps shortens their life a bit - but the main thing to be careful of when caring for your pumps is to totally dry them out before storage after your trip.  Rust is the biggest killer of these pumps usually.
