Hey JC, I lived in Brightview from 2007-2016, so lived through all 2010, 2011 and 2013 floods. From our house, on a hill, the entire area was under around 2.5m of water. We were locked in for a week for each of these events. If you had no flooding in 2011, you weren’t in the Lockyer Valley😭
We've waited 45 years to do this. Now our life will be complete!!

I was talking to a lady yesterday from just up the road and I mentioned, we're supposed to get around 5mm of rain this week.

She said, no, October we are getting rain and lots of it.

How do you know that, i asked.

She said, that's what the onion man said, and he has never been wrong.
Apparently, Atkinson's dam refills every 7 years like clockwork..... it was last full in 2012.

Will be interesting now, to see if the onion man is still on form.
Mind you, while I want/need rain, I don't want a years worth in 1 month either.

We got 7.5!!! ;D :cup:

Sad, I know, getting excited about 7.5mm :'( ::)

On 28/6, we had 9.5mm - since then, up till yesterday, we've had a total of 6.5!, but our average for July, August & September is usually ~170mm.

At least it looks like it's done something to cool the bushfires up in the Hinterland.

we had a cell develop right above us.... again, not a drop here, by the time it hit Lowood, pissing down.
It only had to from 300 metres further west and we would have got more than the bit we got later in the day.

On maybe, 7 or 8 times, we have a cell form up right above us.... got me beat why.

& "Police are speaking to a number of teenagers over a fire that has destroyed at least one home and damaged up to 10 at Peregian Beach on Queensland's Sunshine Coast overnight, and continues to burn out of control"
It’s not just kids being idiots with fires...

“An investigation is underway after two police officers fired their weapons during the dramatic arrest of a 53-year-old man suspected of lighting fires in north Queensland.

Police were called to Palm Grove in the Whitsunday Region about 3:00pm yesterday after a helicopter pilot witnessed a man allegedly lighting fires near Cedar Creek Falls.

Police allege when the officers found the man, he rammed their car with his vehicle.

Both officers fired at the man's vehicle.”

Or really high if you would prefer not to have fires
