Newbie from Northern NSW
« on: December 17, 2011, 06:36:41 PM »
My Family and I are planning a trip to the 'Top End' in June next year. It will hopefully be the beginning of many trips away (we do a lot of camping now but can now take the Camper and Tinnie on top)!

The camper is full stainless steel with an 80litre water tank up front on the inside and is balanced fantastically! Sorry about it looking a bit of a mess in the pic, but I am currently putting some 12 volt power through it and made an outboard bracket for behind the tool box up front.

This site looks excellent, and I am sure I will get heaps of helpful info from here!

More info further down the page!

Cheers
Peter

Welcome Peter,

Not too many stainless campers on MySwag - did you build it yourself? If you did, feel free to add a build thread to the My Camper Trailer Build section - looks like an interesting setup!

Cheers,
Bryan

Here are some pics of it set up (without the awning).

I bought it from a Guy who's Brother was a Boilermaker and custom built it for him.

It is Stainless Steel with a 1.5 ton Axle/ 5 leaf setup and Landcruiser Wheels. The spare winds up under the rear of the trailer via a Hilux spare wheel winch.

I have now powered it with 12 Volt via a 110 amp hour battery in one of the side compartments with a swing opening lid with a master switch inside there as well. There are 2x 50 amp Andersons Plugs on either side at the rear of the trailer for external power and charging, 1x cigarette/12 volt outlet inside the tent adjacent to the bed and 1x cigarette/ 12 volt outlet on the power panel (pictured) underneath the bench on the swing out kitchen. It is a 15 amp fused panel with an adjacent Volt readout and Amp draw gauge.

At this stage I have a 120 watt solar panel and controller to keep everything charged up.

Anyway, we'll see how it goes on its 'maiden voyage' this week! Off for a few days away this Thursday!
