Queenslanders travelling to the meet
« on: December 16, 2018, 12:18:36 PM »
Just thought I'd start this thread so those travelling from Qld can discuss their travel plans to the meet and back and perhaps plan to travel in convoy.

Our plans are to leave 14/04 from the Sunshine Coast via Innaminka, Strzelecki, Gammon Ranges, Flinders NP Rd arriving Rawnsley Park Friday 19/04.

Cheers

We're heading down too but due to time constraints we're doing a mac run via Broken hill. About 3 day should do it. See you there on the Friday.
Cheers, John.

We are planning similar at this stage. I was hoping to go the Saturday but that may change, we were looking at free camping/pub camping as much as possible on on the way. Maybe the dig tree but heard its not that nice at the moment.. Keep us in the loop.

Yeh, Renno what was it you heard about the dig tree?

Our plans have changed slightly

14/4, Sunday Night - Wallan Creek, Bollan, Free Camp
15/4, Monday Night - Noccundra Hotel, Free Camp + Pub Grub
16/4, Tuesday Night - Cullyamurra, NP, Visit local Burke & Wills Stuff
17/4, Wednesday Night - As far as convenient heading towards FRNP, via Strzelecki. Would like to make it to Chambers Gorge for 2 nights but all depends on roads and conditions. (~500kms)
18/4, Thursday night - Chambers Gorge, Free Camp
19/4 Check in

May bring this all forward to depart Saturday if i can get off work a few days early

After the NM we head north through the centre of OZ to Darwin then back via Lawn Hill. Doing all the usual National Parks along the way.

Adding to my travel plans,
13/04 Ipswich / Rosewood to Goondy
to Moree
to Broken Hill
to Peterboro
to Hawker
to Rawnsley.
No dates, so working on free camps as much as possible.
RACQ travel planner reckons it is about 2000 odd Km so 400-500 Kms a day should see me ok.
Woo Hoo

Pretty Similar to what I was looking at off Wikki Camps and Free Range.. Might have to stay in touch depending on the weather it might be handy to travel with someone..
We will have to head home after the meet more direct, probably through Nyngan.

Might be something to pay attention to. Looks like a fair amount of water may make its way down.
