The departure date has been set, May 1st 2018 we will be meeting up at a caravan park (TBA) in Katherine. We will be ahead of the crowds and hopefully some water in the falls and creeks.
This will give members a chance to book holidays.

Can I suggest that you make bookings at Cape Leveque asap.
We were talking to the ex-managers last year and they said that they were book out up to 6 months in advance so keep that in mind.
Banana Well Getaway at the start of the Bitumen was a nice spot to stay too.

Hi Mark
We are in the process of working out our Kimberley trip for next year .
I have looked at your plan and looks good.
I am after some advice if you don't mind. Your plan is to start the adventure in May . I have been told that there is still a good possibility of lots of water in the area ,is this an old wives tale? I was thinking of starting abt July.
Can I have your thoughts please.

Jeff, as we will be taking 3 months off, we want to beat the crowds. If some places are closed we are happy to wait. We are in no rush, plenty of time to relax and enjoy the areas. Time will tell if the wet is normal in 2018.

We are planning our Big Lap for 2018 which would see us leave Perth asap after Xmas 2017 and we would be up in the Kimberley in May. Would be great to do at least a part of this trip with you guys. Our kids will be 10 & 11 by then and would love the company. How do I pencil interest for the moment?

That's cool. Timing looks about right but we will need to be back in Perth in July for school. Will follow the threads with interest.

Hey Mark,
I've been following this for ages and have organised time but we'll be leaving home in Victoria at the end of July, not your trip. I like your plan and would like to do something very similar once we make it that far up.
What are you saying when you say beat the crowds. Can't move for the vans or maybe a few?
Regards

The peak tourist times are from June to September but we will hit the crowds when we get tp Broome.
