Solar Panels on Camper
« on: March 13, 2019, 09:53:27 AM »
I have just purchased a EZYTRAIL PORTLAND LX 2017 CAMPER.

It came with a double solar panel loose in bag for added power.

I attached solar panels direct to battery via clamps and Controller said it was working fine.

However I tried to connect to Anderson Plug that is normally plugged into tug whilst on the move but the Controller
kept on saying battery wasn't connected.

Any clues  or have I missed something.

So the solar panel has a controller mounted on it and you are connecting this to the battery and the Anderson plug? What controller are you referring too that says it is working fine?

Controller is attached to Solar Panels.
When attached to battery via clamp shows charge going into battery on the Controller.

However if I attach it via Anderson Plug onto the Anderson Plug that I use to attach to tug when
towing it shows charge going across but no battery ….. shows battery empty and no charge, even though
main controller shows charge.

check for a fuse in the Andersen line, or possibly even a DC charger

Check the contacts in the anderson plug are actuly in the correct locked in position and both are making contact, sometimes a contact pops out of its locking plate and slides back / not making contact ..

Check Anderson plug terminal hasn't been pushed back into the housing and not making a connection
