Sydney diesel heaters anyone heard of them?
« on: June 28, 2020, 07:55:54 AM »
Hi All,

I stumbled across this company this morning and they look very good and have great reviews. Any body on here heard off or had experience with them?

They read very similar to the dieselheat mob in Cygnet Tasmania.
I might have to give them a call as l am interested in fitting one in my modcon forward fold.

My correction,  it looks like they only sell portable heaters so l will take back the above statement.

I bought a 2.5kw portable heater from Marc. Nice bloke; very open,  honest and easy to deal with. We've had ours for just over a year now and it's fantastic. I looked at eBay heaters and Snugger and chose this one as it much higher quality than the ebay heaters and the case is more protective than the Snugger; cheaper too.

Got one, seems to be a good bit of kit. Yet to put it to use but will in a couple of weeks time.

So they're fully portable & don't need to actually be installed ???

interesting photo with the heater in the tent

Its not actually in the tent but in the vestibule , and there is an exhaust pipe and muffler exiting the heater to the outside of the tent

I've got one of the All-in-one Chinese versions on order. By the time I buy the elbows and heat tape it will be about $300. These Sydney Diesel Heater units look neat and tidier than the Snugger. It will be interesting to see how long my Chinese version lasts and you have to be happy to do a bit of tidying up to produce a working unit.

VVKB is a Chinese heater manufacturer, I have one of their heaters, they seem to be one that actually does a little R&D though (as evidenced by this product) they used to sell through aliexpress but I can't see them there anymore.

edit, should say I am happy with mine, they have an availability of spare parts and seem to have some ability to help/troubleshoot if things go wrong.

I've been running a Chinese deisel heater in my bus pretty well flat out for 18 mths. What I can recommend is getting a spare glow plug and a spare fuel pump. Other than those cheap and easy to replace parts, I'm pretty happy with it.

No mate. Warm as toast The heater does a great job even in 1 or 2 degrees we've been having lately.
