Dark threatening clouds, a nice shade of bottle green tinge, no wind, a few big flashes and rumbles then hardly enough of the wet stuff to dampen the footpath . " Storm Gooonneeeeeee " .
People running around crazy,  driving up over the footpath to get through the traffic and red traffic lights in their flash 4wd, so they dont get hailed on, others yelling to hurry up .. All thinking theyre going to get  caught in the Supercell of Doom .....
People round here have gone Bat Shit crazy ..

we took a direct hit with a storm at 7pm..... should've been a good 20mm in it.

Can't wait to see the dams now.

All our tank overflows go straight to them, rather than just piss out all over the ground.   :cup:

Yea, how unusual! Storms in Queensland in October. Who would have thunk?
Oh, bucketed down here half an hour ago, from a naughty storm, to the tune of 15.6 mm. That makes a life threatening total of about 37 mm for the month, so far.

After good, soaking rain overnight, our monthly total now at 70.8 mm. As Jeepers has said, we still need another 100 mm or so, as our dam is still below half.

My g'father used to say that if it rains in October, it rains in December.

Looking back at our rain records, the years that we had above avergae rain In October, the same happened in December, so who knows, there may be something in it ???

Tiny bit of rain, small hail.... but, a second wave is behind it and just got a warning on the bat phone for large hail.

Its eerily quiet here all of a sudden.

Impressive north Shitney

https://www.smh.com.au/national/nsw/severe-thunderstorm-warning-issued-for-sydney-central-coast-20201031-p56aal.html

In a severe thunderstorm warning at 3.04pm, the Bureau said thunderstorms are likely to produce "giant hailstones", heavy rainfall and possible flash flooding in the Northern Rivers and Northern Tablelands, in locations including Lismore, Grafton, Yamba and Maclean.

The storms may lead to flash flooding and "large hailstones" in other parts of the state, including Newcastle, Gosford, Sydney, Wollongong, Orange, Tamworth and Dubbo.

Lightly showering this morning ;D

If we actually get what they're guessing at for the rest of the week, it'll certainly make the grass green! :o

A nearly cyclone is dumping on the Pilbara after another one wet the Kimberley early in the  week.
100mm in Nullagine probably the most exciting thing to happen there in a while.  :D

And Nullagine had another 100 plus. Marble Bar has had 200 over two days. Roads in and out of town all closed. Town Christmas Party on tonight, hopefully people can get there!

Flood related evacuation warnings at Sawtell I think it was

One section of one street that backs onto a creek.   It usually goes under pretty quick.   In all it has been good steady rain, 230mls in 17 hrs.   I checked my drive and it's really not that washed as it could have been.   Even the creek wasn't up that much.

The BOM from their weather station at the Coffs airport only had 150mls.   Like a lot of places we need about a week of 100-150mls each day, or rather over a 24hr period.   Now if we had even 100mls, 150mls in half an hour like we have previously had, then we are in trouble with some flooding.
Cheers
