Title: Yet another Jayco owner
Post by: Pearlie on December 29, 2010, 09:59:48 AM
Hello all,

have been lurking and reading for a couple of months now and thought it was about time to start contributing.
I have just bought a 2005 Outback Jayco Dove  :D :D and already own a 2004 Prado VX diesel - what a combination!!   :cup:

Have done the swag, the tent, the camper trailer and now set to go in style and comfort in the wind up van.  Her name is Laverne..
So far we have only done short trips locally, that is Barcaldine, Aramac, Muttaburra, 1770 and Yeppoon.

The floods of central Qld are hampering any efforts to get away.  Laverne is also at the auto electricians getting a rear camera that integrates with my VMS system - when the camera arrives, that is!  Apparently the supplier sent everything except the camera...  At least she is well above flood level and locked up behind shed doors until 10th Jan.

I am trying to find out how to post a picture of my girls so bear with me, or if anyone can give me some hints, I would appreciate it thanks.

Love your work, myswag..

My job sees me relocating around the country side 3-4 times a year, so it is a great way of seeing the sights that even the locals don't get to see.

Thanks D4D.  You sound familiar, perhaps a PP follower like myself?!   PP has cost me a lot of money but all worth it.  Just wondering if this forum will do the same.  ;D
Next holiday destination is to be Kangaroo Island and the wine growing areas of SA.  Someone has to do it..........

Welcome to the Jay-- - oops, pardon me, I was going to say some other club there.  Welcome to the forum Pearlie.  I have an 05 Dove Outback too.  I have been through NT, and this year hopefully I will get to WA.

G'day & Welcome Pearlie.

Is the whole VMS system new or just the bits for the camper?

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.

Am currently in Emerald where thankfully nothing of mine went underwater - nearly - but not quite...

To answer bigjules' question about the VMS, the camera out the back is an addition.  Just love the system  :D Have the TPMS, battery monitor, reversing camera for the Prado, blue tooth and complete package with GPS and iTopo maps,HD DVD player, CD (single), iPod, radio and the playback for camera and video from the camera.  Cost one arm and half a leg but don't like the idea of too many gadgets that could potentially act as missiles, heaven forbid, in case of accident...

Pearlie is very well accessorized with all the necessaries, including a chip and a mandrell bent exhaust to better tow the Jayco.  Only problem is that the back door doesn't open all the way.  Does if I park crooked!!
