Greenest sky I've seen for a long time in the Higgins pic.

I seem to recall, back in the 70's or thereabouts, at Carina in Brisbane, we use to see a bit of the green from time to time.

I know at least once, the ol fibro roof  copped a heap of hail stones through it.

I DON'T CARE HOW NICE THE HAND SOAP SMELLS.....

You should never walk out of the public toilets sniffing your fingers.

hailed at our place, though thankfully we still have all our windows left this time around. My weather station did take a direct hail hit though, and part of it is broken off (the part that measures wind speed). Below is a pic i took on my phone just before the storm hit here

Nice pic. Archerfield airport?

i have no idea if he actually did it or not in the end as I'm not on FB myself, just read his rant earlier in the day threatening that it was what he was going to do.

GO THE NELL!!!!

Quote
The warning said tornadoes, destructive winds, large hailstones and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding are likely.

The radar suggests a possible tornado near Kurnell, and moving to the north. The Bureau of Meteorology confirmed a wind gust greater than 200km/h at Kurnell at 10.30am.

Very dangerous thunderstorms are forecast to affect Sutherland, Sydney Airport and the waters off Bondi by 10.40am, and Sydney city, Olympic Park and the Harbour Bridge by 11.10am.

Between bush fires and the preceding photos that is exactly why I stay away from Mid/northern NSWs costal areas. Twenty or more years ago we used to go to those areas. My personal observations are the place either burns down or gets blasted with storms in summer.

Parts of central Queensland could be in for major flooding, with the weather bureau tipping some parts could receive their entire February rainfall in just 24 hours on Friday.

68-year-old man also drowned when his car washed away in flood waters at Saint Kilda, about 70 kilometres west of Bundaberg, in the early hours of Sunday.

Heavy rainfall returned on Thursday and another motorist was rescued from the roof of his car at Apple Tree Creek about 7.30pm, the same crossing where five people and a horse were rescued when a car towing a horse float became stranded in the early hours of Sunday.

Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Richard Wardle said Rockhampton had received 99.4 millimetres of rain since 9am Thursday.

The average monthly rainfall for February in the Capricornia Coast city is 146 millimetres, he said.

Rockhampton has had 99.4mm since 9am yesterday.

"We expect the rain to continue today and over the weekend, at the moment the highest we have recorded was at Ampt Hill in the Capricornia forecast district, which received 143 millimetres in 24 hours," he said.
