This discussion came up Australia Day Weekend while our 4wd Club camped.
Sooner or later, your navigation system in car, as well as your mobile phone(tracks you) will be used to fine you, speeding, parked too long and parked in a no parking zone.
Hmm, the Rise of the Machine.

it’s interesting that you raise this. Here in Vic several years ago, if you were driving on the Hume Fwy heading north or south from Melbourne there was always a good chance that you would come across up to 6 highway patrol vehicles en route particularly on long weekends. There are now active fixed speed cameras, average distance speed cameras and safety barriers along the route and lucky if you see 1 maybe 2 highway patrol vehicles. There’s plenty of other suburban crime going on so I’m sure redeployment has occurred, but technology has reduced speeding and the barriers the accidents.

From the article:

"The report found brands such as BMW, Ford, Toyota, Tesla, Kia, and Subaru could "collect deeply personal data such as sexual activity, immigration status, race, facial expressions, weight, health and genetic information, and where you drive", which they could potentially sell to third parties."

"where you drive" is obvious; "weight, health and genetic information" could be read from sensors, especially if you've got push-button start; "race, facial expressions, & sexual activity" says there's a hidden camera filming the inside of the car ???; but "immigration status" ??? How are they checking that ??? Or are they recording & checking what you say about your visa expiring ???

Wouldn't worry about, a lot of that information could be sourced from your computer, phone and other devices anyway.

As a proud 80 owner, what's this technology you talk of?
