Title: New CTer from Sydney
Post by: PilgrimTraveller on January 20, 2018, 12:17:28 PM
Hey all!

We’re the proud new owners of a Black Series Alpha CT that we picked up in November and used for the first time a few weeks ago. Having spent months in a caravan a few years ago travelling around, and also a portion of my life in tents, it’s exciting to be trying something new. Already loving the canvas over the poly tents I normally sleep in. Kids loved having their own room (bought the additional kids room) and overall it went well.

I’m curious if other Black Series owners (I guess particularly in the cheaper models) have replaced or enhanced the mattress at all? It is rock solid “high density foam” and both of us ended up waking up most days with stiff back/neck/shoulders. Definitely need to invest in something softer. Curious how thick a mattress folks have gone with and still been able to close up the camper properly. We’re trying to leave the A-frame on top of the mattress to simplify setup (annoyingly, the camper folds down best with the A-frame under the mattress which makes setup/pack down a nightmare). Also curious to talk to other Alpha owners about any improvements they’ve made if there are others out there!

Thanks all, glad to be here!

Brett

Welcome Brett,

Well done with the new CT, I'm sure that a change of mattress is available that will make sleeping all that better.
