2014 Olympic Games
« on: February 10, 2014, 10:07:32 AM »
I loved watching the Dutch getting gold, silver and bronze on the 5,000 m speed skating for men and gold on the 3,000 for women.

What I don't like is that Ten is switching from One to Ten without telling you.
So you are watching a bit of the race, then there is a commercial break (again) and nothing. You have to switch to another channel to keep following therace.

Could be worse, the batteries could be flat in the remote and you'd have to get off the couch to change the channel O0

IMO the winter games is more true to spirit than the summer. basketball and tennis players and the like are a joke.

I love the winter games, the men's downhill was amazing. I remember Helmut Mayer getting a silver in the super  G back in 88, to see his son, not the favourite, win, was fantastic.

As an ex Mansfieldian I will be up supporting chumpy pullin later in the week! great kid (well, adult now), but not sure about his mo!

100% agree about Roy & HG, wasn't funny back in its day, even less so now. Also agree it is much more watchable than the summer games, in fact other than cricket and Aussie rules it is the only sport I would watch on TV
