Trip Planning
« on: June 14, 2014, 06:03:22 AM »
Hi we are doing a trip from Brisbane out west to Birdsville, Alice Springs, Darwin across the Gulf & down the centre & home to Brissy in 2015.
Just wondering what is the best travel planning book/maps to purchase that will give us a lot of detail, ie roads terrain and so on.

Cheers
Dave

A Hema Central Oz paper map would be a good start.  Only $10 and has all the tracks and roads on it that you will need.

  • If I agree with you, then we would both be wrong!

If you are planning to do the deserts - even some of the track Strezlecki etc, you will need a parks pass, from memory you get detailed maps as a part of the purchase.. can't remember the cost however.
