Title: Tripigy - Updates & Free Codes for previous users
Post by: firefox on September 02, 2018, 09:59:26 AM
Hey Everyone,
So some have wondered what i've/we've been up to. Keeping way to busy unfortunately.

Anyhow we've been working on an entire new Tripigy platform, which is only going to get better and better from all those years ago.
We've just launched an entire new platform/framework/apps/web etc.

For Australia you can go directly to https://au.tripigy.com

The new Apps are below. (read for more info)
Tripigy AUS - Android - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tripigy.au.android
Tripigy AUS - IOS - https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/tripigy-australia/id1425579558?mt=8

An entire new platform/mobile app was developed over the past 2 years this is now running on other apps with over 50,000+ downloads so it's very stable and now pretty good.
Has lots of awesome features as well.

The new web site's have a FANTASTIC new trip planner capability! which is very very cool.(and will be available in the mobile platform very soon!)

NOW For the good news for those MYSWAGGER's
So i know alot of people previously used the app (the old one).
If you email us (team.tripigy@tripigy.com) with your myswag username and that you've brought the old APP, well give you a REDEEM code so you can download the new app for FREE!
As always just provide feedback to the above address.

We also are working and will be releasing in the coming month or so a new Windows Mobile Offline platform as well.
This will provide every device (INCLUDING MAC's) with an app and device, and complete SYNC capability across all devices.

We also have some awesome new features and many updates planned. The team in tripigy development has grown significantly in the past 2 years! lots of great ideas and things happening.

Just downloaded it. Still missing places. Around the Kimberley and the Dampier Peninsula.

The free/ low cost camps, what are the guidelines for this.

Still a bit to do to take on Wikicamps.

Sorry but just being honest.

hey Mark, we've not released our final DB update (which is audited against wikicamps!) amongst others.

The only thing i would say though as you know is we WILL NOT list illegal sites (like wikicamps does). We work closely with the councils and states to ensure data is actually accurate and legal.

In the next 2 weeks our update will be spot on. (for legal sites). If you are willing to camp illegal like some yep we won't have them. All i can recommend is you use both apps. We will never be listing illegal sites that are not authorised camp sites.

Plus you gotta remember.. The following :)

We have a Web site as well, it all sync's across any and all devices.
Our information is sourced from many legit sources (as well as public, c'mon mark add those legal sites in :).)
Very detailed offline maps (and more coming) far better than anyone!
offline routing and distance calc's without using the internet ! (no one else can do that)
Detailed information in descriptions, with fully moderated data (because towns/caravan parks update free camps nearby in the other app!)
Our online trip planner is far more detailed and capable then anything else, with real route planning and POI's (which is also being released in the mobile app)
Services (Fuel, Medical and so much more)
Alot of other stuff as well. We are working on a comparision chart, you have to remember our focus is on giving the traveller legal information that is accurate and you don't have to "guess".

There's always gaps in the system and we do love the feedback as always on updating sites/info where required.
Most won't know this but we have over 70,000+ members real-time on the road uploading legitimate camps through our relationship with CMCA! They provide not "backpacker" info, but real info.

One place missing is Gumbanan at Cape Leveque, a great camping spot and the others are Honeymoon Bay and the Mission at Kalumburu. All of these places are legal camping  ;D. ;D

Look forward to the finished product.

Looks like Hema Explorer maps and POIs.  Also has the same annoying calibration prompt each time you open it.  Who is using who’s database?

The redeem code is a part of the App Store process, in Apple or android you enter the code and it allocates the app to you for free.

I suppose we all audit against each other hence why we are more focused on ease of use and functionality as such. We are the only ones that keep a full description though and our databases are not copied. For example every cord in the system is at the front of the driveway entry this assists with gps devices finding the correct drive path.

I did same thing at first. I went back into Google Play Store
It allows you to to get a refund by uninstalling itself.
Then when you go to buy it, I touched the box, not the install button, and it allowed you to used redemption code.

Cheers Glen

sorry yes for those that are getting reedem codes.
Its in the app store (IOS/Android) there's options to "redeem code" which isn't associated with tripigy. Its just a store thing.
When you enter the unique code it will ask you to confirm that you wish to install Tripigy for free.

Thanks Justin,
Just redeemed the app through the the App Store at Apple.
Googled how to do it and it was easy in the end.
We like to use the Tripigy app as we can find places to stay in the areas we are travelling in, or where we are heading to which Wiki can’t do.( need to type in correct areas in Wiki or it does not respond, I’m sometimes not the best at spelling towns, etc.)
Thanks again,

Rob

Rob try out the new trip planner online! Its on steriods and you can even click on POI's on the map (not tripigy ones) and do a complete custom trip plan. There's alot more coming. :)

Didn't have previous versions (not worried about paying a few dollars) and am skeptical about adding to the phone as I have just looked your website, nowhere to register???? Therefore, I cannot access any of the functions!!!

Will this impact the sync or offline capabilities?

Are the website and phone app accounts connected, or will they eventually be??

The website is interesting

No matter if I hit places, services, account etc nothing changes on the screen.

I finally found “add to trip planner”, but you need to click on a place first, then it asks for your login details, which I cannot remember, and there is no way to find them as there is no forget password / ‘ login to retrieve them.

So I am stuck in limbo.  ???

mark yeah you need your old login details. We've been subjected to alot of "accounts" of late so had shutdown the reset until we have a more robust solution.
Send me an email and i'll make sure you login is fixed and working. (or you can just create a new one)

And yes to use any of the fancy features you will need to be logged in. there are basics there for people just browsing.

Can you explain pls. even if it means a PM.

Web site does not allow new logins just yet.
We got some people creating fake logins to post links to competitors. But I won’t go into detail on that. So we removed rego from the web site. But it’s coming.
You can register in the app though.

I can let people know when rego is available on the web site.
If you had a previous one it still works.

Be good if you could please, also the financial side of things and how it works pls.?
Whether it's an annual or a once off fee situation, and how payment is achieved if I go ahead with the deal.
For myself, as the user that is.
My intention is to not get the App., as you put it.  My phone screen is too small, and I already have a Laptop.
So just access to the planning and POI was what I was looking at.  Maybe include another device later on.

Web Access will ALWAYS be FREE! We're not planning on changing that.
Web development is alot less then the cost of mobile development.

There's a Microsoft Windows App coming sometime which will be available for Offline for Windows (and Mac later).

So in the next 6months we will support.

WEB -> FREE
IOS/Android -> Small Cost
Windows Offline -> Small Cost
Mac Offline -> Small Cost

The Apps Small Costs are a one time fee. (currently in AUS 2.99) other then that there's nothing else.

Just a quick FYI for those wanting to reset accounts.
On the login page there is now the ability to reset a password based on your email. So simply choose this option an email will go to your account with further instructions.
If you dont have an account you can also now register online through the web portal to setup a new account.

Interesting regarding the upcoming  changes,  the least you could have done was advise the forum a while back about the move across to hemax. No information provided about the changes etc. Is the group not that important to your business.

Saying there are some very cool things for the members is a bit cynical after the lack of communication with all the changes. This is just my opinion, but I will stick with the mainstream map companies as they seem to be more on the ball and have products that actually work.

Honestly, I would not hold my breath waiting for the changes as we always seem to hear about some great new updates etc coming and then nothing.

Like I said just being upfront and honest.

Hi doc evil,
Well sort of and sort of not. Tripigy merged with Hema about a year ago and we've been building out entire new apps, new platforms and everything else to go with it.

If you go to tripigy you will now see it takes you to planner.hemax.com which is the significantly updated and overhauled version of tripigy WITH HEMA MAPS !!!! :)

There's also a new app called CamperX in the app stores that replaces the tripigy platform.
There's still so much planned to do and update but the platform is now extensively used (approx 30,000+ active users in the last month) and growing each day.

Unfortunately been crazy busy and also having to manage a few things at the moment as i am sure everyone is.

will try and post here a little more when i can.

yep, tripigy the old system is gone, new system has to be signed up etc. on the https://www.hemax.com/
We are looking at migrating users once we can find time, but at the moment you will need to sign up on the new system.
Currently now HemaX is completely free online (just like tripigy was) it has a hell of alot more capability and POI's plus free Hema Maps *currently* along with many other things.

Platform will always be free, but there will be certain things like premium maps that will be charged later on (available free) the lite version is still a Hema maps map but is cut down. Other items will be reduced, there’s intro to magazines and numerous other things coming..

Tripigy web platform was always free mobile app had a small cost.
The CamperX app does have a charge but includes the premium Hema maps worth 50+ normally. You can use the web platform like always as a replacement to the Tripigy web platform no problems.
