Using 1 gas bottle (3.7kg) to feed 2 cookers
« on: November 15, 2013, 06:27:51 PM »
Hi
I have a great kitchen in my camel bushman plus camper trailer, but I want to make it better.

I have a smev 3 burner cooktop that is connected up to a 3.7kg gas bottle on the side of the trailer, but I want to buy a little everdure neo buddy for cooking steaks/sausages etc outside of the annex, but I want to have it hooked up to the same gas bottle?

Can this be done and what piece do I need?? I'm sure it's basic question... But.... ????

I've attached a picture of the current gas bottle set-up.....

Hi barnray,

I am currently working on the same set-up with the same BBQ and I was looking at putting a tee under your existing cooktop connection to a bayonett point at the end of the kitchen. On the BBQ I am putting a 3/8 female x flare 90' on the existing BBQ point and then connection a 3/8 x 1200mm long bayonett hose into the end of the kitchen when needed to BBQ. Following are a few photos of my set up I am working on. I am doing the same at end of BBQ however to connect gas system to kitchen am doing it via another bayonet hose to the cooktop and BBQ point so I can disconnect when kitchen is closed. Hope this helps. Am doing all myself as I am a gasfitter (helps sometimes).

cheers marty

Thanks Barnray, are these avl in camp stores? Do I just ask for one of those and they'll know what I'm talking about?
Cheers

Try one of these:-
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-LPG-Propane-gas-POL-Y-BRASS-Connector-caravan-etc-/350848829530?pt=UK_Campervan_Caravan_Accessories&hash=item51b038485a
I recently got one total cost approx $40 delivered to OZ. Only took a couple of weeks to arrive.

i purchased a t piece for my 9kg gas bottle from my local camping store, we can now run the wok burner and 2 burner stove at the same time from the one bottle. linked is what i have, but you'll be able to find what suits you best at most camping stores and the like, they even do ones that have 2 knobs for turning each t piece section on and off seperately.http://www.bcf.com.au/online-store/products/Primus-POL-to-Double-POL-Adaptor.aspx?pid=300517&menuFrom=571612#Cross
here's another thread with heaps of links to such items in it http://www.myswag.org/index.php?topic=18432.0
